Direct control of the Cassegrain Instruments

It is possible to communicate with any of a number of other 4ms microprocessors using terminal A, by selecting the appropriate position on the rotary switch marked `` A''. The microprocessors include:-

• The FOS 4ms microprocessor.
• The ISIS 4ms microprocessor (position labelled `` CASS INST'').
• The A&G box 4ms microprocessor.
• The IPCS 4ms microprocessor.

The last three should only be used by technical staff who have read the appropriate technical documentation, but until the FOS D-task has been fully commissioned it may be necessary to move some FOS mechanisms and interrogate the status of the mechanisms from this terminal. These commands are listed in Part v.
