The CONFIG.DAT file

Configuration parameters will change from time to time, usually as a result of mechanical modifications, and additional configurations are likely to be added. The definitive list of configurations is held in the file GSS_DIR:CONFIG.DAT, which may be read or printed. Each configuration is defined by a block starting with CONFIG. The variables defining the configuration are then listed, in fixed order, with variable names as comments. The translation between variable names and the symbols used earlier is given in Table 6. Note that the variables RVEL, THVEL, XVEL and YVEL are used only by the TAG I-task.
