Finding guide stars for a large number of targets

In order to determine guide star positions for a long list of targets to be observed with the same instrumental configuration, the simplest method is to make a catalogue file containing their positions (as described in the previous section) and to use the CATSEARCH command. For example, to list one guide star for each of the entries in a catalogue WHITE.CAT, to be observed with the JKT CCD camera:

$GSS
GSS>CONFIG JKT CCDE
GSS>NUMBER 1
GSS>CATSEARCH WHITE.CAT
GSS>EXIT
