The shutter consists of an aluminium blade which slides under solenoid control behind the slit. A foam rubber light seal is made between the, blade and slit unit. A d.c. power supply of 20 to 30Y is required ideally on the @ telescope but during commissioning the power supply was located on the dome floor.
