Although any window on the chip may be chosen, the most efficient way of doing this, in terms of shorter readout time, is to choose an area of complete rows near pixel numbers x = 0 and y = 0.
Parameters
There are four. The first two are the pixel coordinates in x and y of the lower left hand corner of the chip readout area required. The third and fourth define (in pixels) the length and height of the readout window.
Examples
Adam:> WINDOW 0 0 100 100
This would set up a readout window of 100 x 100 pixels whose bottom left hand corner (as seen on the Lexidata display with the chip in its normal orientation) is at pixel number x = 0 , y = 0.
When the data is read out the windowed area is centred on the Lexidata display and the axes are labelled with the original pixel coordinates.
The original WINDOW can be reset by issuing another WINDOW command with the full pixel dimensions of the chip or alternatively by typing CHIP or DEF_WINDOW.
N.B. WINDOW and BIN cannot be used together
