Description: The Galway Image Sharpening Camera (GISC) imaged on to a photon-counting device. This set-up simply allows a single aperture matched to the optimal diameter for sharpening to be placed in the collimated beam of the telescope. Photons detected from the monitoring star and target are recorded with 1-ms time resolution, the data being reduced off-line to produce the sharpened image.
