This picture is the sum of four 10s, three 20s and five 5s exposures without filters. They were taken from 5:12 to 5:19, from 5:22 to 5:26 and from 5:27 to 5:36 UT. The field size is 5.2×5.2 degrees. The filaments visible in the dust tail to the right are synchronic bands of material ejected at the same time from the nucleus, first observed by Fukushima and collaborators (National Astronomical Observatory of Japan) the 6th of March (see our section dedicated to the latest news on comet Hale-Bopp).
This small picture is the sum of five 5s exposures without filters too. It's 54×53 arcminutes.
