Marconi1 Parameters with UltraDAS
Device Identification
| Chip name | Marconi1 |
| Year of manufacture | 2002 |
| Serial number | 00452-11-03 |
| First light on La Palma | |
| Description | Experimental deep depletion low fringing CCD with 'stripes'. 750nm AR coating. On loan from manufacturer. |
Operational Characteristics
| Speed | Slow | Fast |
| Bias(ADU) | 1760 | 1170 |
| Gain(e/ADU) | 1.2 | 2.47 |
| Noise(e) | 3 | 4.2 |
| Linear to(ADU)
{also see graphs below} |
63K | 55K |
| Readout time(s) | 63 | 42 |

Windowing first 50 columns are noisy.
Binning there is no increase in noise up to 4x4..
NB With the old Dutch controllers the selected readout
speed always changed to 'turbo' when binning. This does not happen
with the new SDSU controllers, the selected readout speed is not changed.
However, the time taken to readout will of course be reduced when binning,
as one would expect.

Measured characteristics
'The CCD has experimental mirror sections deposited in alternating blocks of 512 rows. The QE under the mirror sections is enhanced in the red. The QE graph shows data taken in the mirror and non-mirror sections. The appearence of these mirrors is shown in the falt field image below'.
| Dark current | 3e per hour, measured 1 hour after power-up. |
| Cosmetics | Column 234 slightly bright, no dark columns |
| Fringeing | See graph of fringe amplitude vs wavelength |
| Point Spread Function | See graph of FWHM vs wavelength |
