INT ALARMS

revised 01/12/98

ALARMS

1. Miscellaneous alarms, numbered 1..16
#1: generators ON -> mute alarm
#9: entrance button pressed -> mute alarm, see who is there
#2-8,10-16: not important -> mute alarm

2. rain alarm -> mute/accept (control desk), check/close up

3. repeater for manifold pressure alarm
(the box between the white board and the variacs), dry air supply and gaseous N2 backup
normal: low air pressure detected -> check the INT air compressor, worst case you have to switch over to the WHT air compressor (call the IO if you haven't done it before); the gaseous N2 backup (bottles) hasn't been used the last three years and with the backup WHT air compressor we should never need them, hence do not bother with the N2 backup anymore (advice from AKC)
riserva: low N2 pressure detected -> change to bottle battery on the other side, however this isn't used anymore

4. high temperature alarm (25 deg.) in clip center
(box at wall next to light switches)
Mute alarm: -> call the IO, open the doors
Stop raw mains shutdown timer (activated with 30 deg.):
-> only stop the timer if you are sure the temperature will drop in the next few minutes (IO to decide)

5. the A/C system has been replaced recently, there are no alarm to attend anymore

OTHERS

1. roof trace heating
(right of miscellaneous alarms in control room)
-> this may be switched on to reduce the build up of ice on roof and dome during bad weather in winter
