The following WHT instruments have been decommissioned:
- FOS2
- The Faint-Object Spectrograph.
- LDSS2
- The Low-Dispersion Survey Spectrograph
has moved to Magellan.

- Fabry-Perot etalon spectrograph
- UES
- The Utrecht Echelle Spectrograph was removed from the Nasmyth
platform to make way for the AO enclosure GRACE.

- The WHT IR Camera was the predecessor of INGRID.
