If the power is removed from the JKT DAS or if the system has been closed down for some reason these are the procedures to follow. There is one procedure to start up the DAS system computer lpss12, and another procedure to start up any of the other sparcs.
To start any of the other sparcs eg lpss11
If switching on the whole system bring up lpss12 first and then the sparcs individually (in any order).
Unix computers (eg Sun sparcs) must never be turned off - always follow the procedures - otherwise disk corruption can occur.
Because the DataCell card driver has a bug the DAS computer lpss12
must
be turned off at the mains whenever it is rebooted see
The sparc mains switches are located at the back right hand side top. They can be switched on by this button or the keyboard key top right marked with a circle and vertical line.
If there has been a UPS failure or other mains disruption -
lpss12 must be powered off at the mains before reboot and the correct procedure followed.
If you are just rebooting the sparc and it has been halted (so its ON and has the OK prompt visiable) type boot at the OK prompt. Then goto to test it.
And test it
