ING instruments and facilities available for Semester 98A together with the various detector options can be found on the Cambridge pages of the www at http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/ING/.

New for Semester 98A is the WHT instrument Integral (used with WYFFOS) on a 'best-efforts' basis- but see Spectrum No 15 for details.
Note also that the RBS on the JKT is being decommissioned after Semester 97B.

Electronic Submission for PATT proposals (Semester 98A)

From Semester 98A the ING are introducing an alternative method of electronic submission, namely, the submission of a LaTeX file. Hence you may use either the usual FORMLOAD system or you can use the new LaTeX (stylefile) system, as described in the world wide web pages at URL http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/ING/.

A description of the AAT (Formload only) system is given below.

Service Observing for Semester 97B

The first Semester (97A) where the new Service scheme was introduced has been a great success. There have been very few difficulties experienced and the peer review system whereby all proposals are scientifically refereed has worked well.

The deadlines for Service applications is 0hr the first day of each month. For details on the operation of this scheme and the list of Service nights available in Semester 97B, see http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/ING/.

Service-queue scheme (INT) - Semester 98A

There will be another Service-queue observing run(s) in Semester 98A using the WFC (prime focus imaging) depending on demand. Check with the Cambridge web pages given above as to the current status of the WFC.

A Service-queue run has been scheduled for January 1998.
