Currently neither of the ICL routines work very well, although the command af2_beamswitchtel source fibre# seems to work with reasonable accuracy for fibres near the field centre. Eventually this routine (with af2_offsettel source fibre#) will be offset the telescope automatically, but until it works reliably you will have to do things by hand.

• GOCAT to source on TCS.
• View it with mobile probe afvsky 0 0
• Centre the star on the cross of the mobile probe
• Type af2_beamswitchtel source fibre#. It won't actually move the telescope, but it will tell you the commands to type in to apply the beamswitch to put the standard down fibre#.
• After the beamswitch, type afvobj # to view the standard over the fibre it has been offset down.
• Centre up the standard on the cross again.
• Park the mobile probe: afpark

You are now ready to take the spectrum of the standard star.
