The 4.2-m William Herschel Telescope is equipped with a prime-focus corrector yielding a field of one degree for multi-fibre spectroscopy. The corrector, with its atmospheric-dispersion compensator (ADC) and a rotating instrument platform, has now been commissioned and is operational on the telescope. The spectroscopic facility itself consists of a robotic fibre positioner, the fibre feeds, and an intermediate-dispersion spectrograph mounted on one of the Nasmyth platforms.
