WYFFOS/AUTOFIB2 on the WHT
Reduction Software
Jim Lewis at RGO has written an IRAF data reduction task, Wyf_red,
specialized for the extraction of the multi-fibre spectra generated
by WYFFOS. This is an IRAF script task which is based on the generalised
fibre reduction task `dofibres' which was written by Frank Valdes at
NOAO. This software attempts to automate the data reduction as much
as possible, and will do bias subtraction, aperture defining,
arc extraction and scrunching, correction for relative fibre
throughput using offset sky frames or flatfields, sky subtraction,
and finally object extraction, with a minimum of user input.
The tar file
containing the iraf scripts, the
user manual
and installation guide
are all available via anonymous ftp. Note that the tar file contains all the
iraf scripts in the 'rgo' package, of which the wyf_red routine is only a part.
