UMIRROR

Moves autoguider mirror in UES A&G unit

Format: UMIRROR <parameter>

Parameter: The position of the mirror. This can be a real number specifiying the linear displacement of the mirror, or a character string specifying one of a set of standard operational positions.

Units: mm or none

Range: 0 < <parameter> < 406, or one of the following character strings: CLEAR, GUIDEONLY, POINTSOURCE, LONGSLIT, SHORTSLIT, ULAMPS.

Defaults: Defaults to uninitialised on power--up.
Initialises to position 203 mm.

Examples : UMIRROR 0, UMIRROR POINTSOURCE

Comments: The standard operational positions of this autoguider mirror have the following effect: CLEAR allows all the light through to the spectrograph slit, and is the position required when the observer wishes to use the TV to view the slit. GUIDEONLY directs all the light to the offset guide probes. POINTSOURCE, LONGSLIT and SHORTSLIT allow light from an object at the field centre to reach the slit, and direct light in the outer part of the field to the offset guide probe. ULAMPS directs light from the comparison lamp system into the spectrograph. The positions CLEAR, GUIDEONLY, POINTSOURCE, LONGSLIT, SHORTSLIT, ULAMPS correspond to linear displacements of the mirror of 0, 83, 138, 225, 312 and 406 mm respectively.
