Manual guiding off the slit image

It is possible that the object is visible on the slit, but is not suitable for autoguiding. For example, the object may be too extended, too faint for the software centroiding, or the slit may be too wide for the software centroiding algorithm. In such a case it may be possible to guide manually on the slit image.

The procedure is to set the CCD autoguider continuously reading out the window corresponding to the slitviewing probe, and then use the TCS handset to guide.

The commands to do this are as follows.Commands with the ICL prompt are issued from the system computer, commands with the A&G prompt are issued from the autoguider terminal.
