Data acquisition with the IPCS-II

Full details of the IPCS-II detector are given in the IPCS-II User Guide (Dicks et al 1989). Hence only a brief summary of its use will be given here.

Saturation of the IPCS-II detector will destroy the S20 photcathode. Hence caution should be used when working with this detector system in ensuring that strong light NEVER illuminates the detector.
