Displaying images

The DISPLAY command is used for images. This has several parameters and options. The user is required to give black and white levels for dynamic scaling. By default the image is scaled spatially so that both and fill the screen. This can be over-ridden by use of the /1TO1 option.

The routine calculates sensible default values for the black and white levels. Since this takes some time, the option /FAST can be useful where the black and white levels are known in advance.

The look-up table used in the display can be altered with LUT, which offers a choice of several predetermined LUTs as well as user input. Information about these is supplied with:

LEXT - IMAGE 2 > LUT HELP
Note that on a hard-copy device, black and white are interchanged.
