Rich Reed demonstrated some of the NOAO large-chip cameras. In particular we saw the Quad, front-side CCD, Loral head which appeared to operate with much the same sort of characteristics as our own cryogenic heads. Hold-times , thermal load , power required at , using 1.5 litres of cryogen. Pixel time is (i.e. 4 amps with integrator slopes). Noise figures looked good, for thick devices, for thinned devices. He reported that he lost 2-3% in the blue after UV flooding and didnt recover later when warmed to room temperature. He also reported a dark current for the devices of .
