PURGE - Delete run files from disk

Delete run files from disk

Parameters

Five are required - the name of the disk (SYS for CCD data), the name of the detector being used (CCD), the observer's initials the first run number to be deleted and the last run number to be deleted. If omitted, all are prompted for.

Examples

Adam:> PURGE SYS CCD RWA 1 10

Notes

If a file has not yet been archived to tape PURGE checks that you really want to delete it. To check which files have not yet been archived press the break button on the Adam terminal ONCE only. When the asterisk prompt appears type:

*D F,SYS:CCDRWA /

This displays all files on the SYS disk with name CCDRWA. Those files with the protection code BD00 have not been archived. You will then get the Adam prompt > back (but without the word Adam). The D(isplay) F(iles) command can be used at any time on the 3220 system terminal.

There is a built-in command, DELETE, which does much the same as PURGE except that it will not try to delete protected files. For example to delete runs 20 to 30 you simply type DELETE R20-R30.
