First specify the date when the night started using the format 'yyyymmdd'.
If a copy of an already existing log is all you need then mark
'Only display/print/e-mail existing night log.' For paper and electronic
copies mark 'Printer' and specify the E-mail address. On submit the log
is displayed and the additional copies are processed.
When creating a new observing log you must specify the instrument in
use. The next page (form page) will depend on the instrument.
Have you observed the previous night with the same setup then mark
'Preload fields with contents of last night log (only for new night log)'.
This page is for adding information on people involved, program title, d-tape number, telescope, instrument, weather and time lost. On submit all this information is saved to a file and reloaded to the form page when you call it later. Old observing logs can be changed what the form data is concerned! After submit the full log including the form entries, automatically generated information (e.g. sun and moon ephemeris) and the log of all your runs is displayed and paper copies are processed.
