glance: make an exposure without archiving the data

Function:

glance exposes the CCD mosaic and saves the images in four FITS files. The files are complete with normal FITS headers but are not passed to the archiving and logging facilities; no run numbers are allocated.

The command handles the necessary interactions with the autoguider. At the end of the readout, the shutter opens again to let the autoguider see the sky. If the system is autoguiding at the start of the run, it will autoguide during the exposure and again after the run finishes.

A title may be given for the observation: the title appears as the datum of the OBJECT keyword in the FITS headers. The default title is "unspecified object".

Usage:

   glance time ["title"]
where time is in seconds. The title-string must be enclosed in double quotes.

Notes and caveats:

The FITS files produced are DAS1.fit, DAS5.fit, DAS3.fit and DAS4.fit (i.e. they are named for the four DAS tasks producing the data; DAS5 works for CCD #2 as DAS2 is out of service). They can be copied and processed in the same way as normal run files.
