obssys: select the telescope, instrument, detector and system-version

Function:

obssys selects a version on configuration of the observng system and makes the appropriate software available. It does not start any part of the system.

Usage:

   obssys
then select from the menu.

Notes and caveats:

If you shut down the system to clear a fault, you don't need to run obssys The software works out what telescope you're using from the name of the computer.

When choosing from the menu, be sure to choose the correct version of the system (the number prefixed by `s', usually in parentheses). There will typically be two system versions available for each instrument.

It's unwise to memorize the index numbers at the left of the menu, or to use those numbers when reporting the version of the system in use. The index numbers change with system releases, the system versions, e.g. s5.1, are absolute.
