The PNS DAS scripts

The PNS DAS scripts can be obtained as a tar file here. Unpack the tar file from the home directory of whtobs on the DAS control computer (taurus). The scripts should appear in the subdirectory /home/whtobs/pns/ . To install the commands, issue the following from the SYS> prompt on the "DAS central intelligence window": source pns/aliases . The following commands are then available:
windowpns set window parameters of PNSL and PNSR CCDs
smallwindow choose small 100x100 windows for quick-look
expose expose time "title" for science exposures
note this staggers the exposures to prevent simultaneous readout (and concomitant pattern noise)
NSexpose NSexpose time "title" for science exposures
note this does not stagger the exposures
fluxstd fluxstd time "title" for flux standards
focus integrate on both ccds for 300 s during tel focus run
arcs 80 second arc exposure; tells you to switch lamps on and off.
flats internal flats exposure; tells you to switch lamps on/off.
finishpns end both arms' integrations and read out simultaneously.

In addition some standard macros are useful:
newtime newtime pnsl t or pnsr t; changes the exposure time of the respective channel
abort pnsl or pnsr; terminates exposure without saving data
