TV/Autoguider
at AF2
1. Camera connections
and start-up
Either AG2 or AG3 may be used as the AF2 TV/Autoguider.
The SDSU controller must be connected to Leo(DAS3) the keyboard, monitor
and mouse for which are next to the cryocam console.
Ensure that the relevant camera is connected has been selected
in th uDAS config file and then enter the following commands at Leo
:
obssys [ select option 1 ]
startobssys
startag <camera name> e.g.
AG2
The camera mimic, an AG GUI and the ds9 image tool should
then appear on the Leo monitor.
2. Connections to TCS
For the autoguider to be able to supply corrections to the TCS,
serial port B on Leo must be connected to the Alpha
this is done via two switch boxes. The first
can be found below Leo and the second next
to the Alpha.
3. Peltier connections
N.B. All of the new AG camera heads have 2.5V peltier coolers with
the exception of AG2 which has a 5V peltier. To avoid possible problems
caused by mis-connection the cable connectors have appropriate
keyways. If a connector doesn't fit, don't get violent, you either have the
wrong cable or you are plugging it in the wrong place. The cables are labeled.
